Harrods Corporate Charity Partner: NSPCC
Following a hugely successful partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support, Harrods are delighted to announce that the NSPCC has been selected as our national charity partner from March 2015 to 2017.
The NSPCC is leading the fight against child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. They help children who have been abused to rebuild their lives, protect children at risk, and find the best ways of preventing child abuse from ever happening. In partnership, we believe there is an opportunity for Harrods and its employees to make a real impact on the lives of the families the NSPCC support.
How will we work together with the NSPCC?
Harrods and the NSPCC are working closely to optimise fundraising events and encourage our employees to ‘Give Back’, sharing skills, their time and developing themselves through new volunteering achievements.
In 2015, the NSPCC is the official partner of some amazing events including the Virgin London Marathon, the 5k 'Colour Run' series and the Royal Parks Half Marathon. As a valued corporate partner, Harrods employees will have a chance to support these great causes and raise awareness for the NSPCC. Harrods employee participation will be encouraged through the Harrods Giving Back Programme which enables employees to take a day of their time each year to support charitable causes.
How to get involved
We’ll be updating this page over the year with our upcoming fundraising events and volunteering achievements. These examples below demonstrate how even a small contribution to the NSPCC can make a big difference:
£4 raised from a tea party or bake sale will cover the cost of a call to a ChildLine counsellor at the critical point a child needs to talk
£400 raised from a sample sale could pay for the ChildLine School Service to talk to one classroom of primary school children about abuse and where they can find help if they ever need it
£2,800 raised from running the Virgin London Marathon will allow us to recruit, train and support one Schools Service volunteer for a year, reaching 720 children in London
We will be kicking off the partnership in style in early March, so stay tuned for more information once activities get underway.
If you would like to support the NSPCC, please visit their NSPCC What You Can Do page, which presents a variety of ways you can support them too.
Together with our recent partnership with the Kensington & Chelsea Foundation, Harrods now has both a local and a national focus for its charitable activities.
