Night at the Museum...

One of the greatest things to do in London is visit its museums, of which there are plenty. From the Royal Academy to the National Portrait, The Maritime to the Design museum, The Tate Britain to the Horniman, we really are spoilt for choice. For the most part, these are free, and are open from 9am to 5pm during the week and weekends, but this weekend, from the 27th to the 29th October 2016, museums across the country will be open late as part of the Museums at Night festival. This week’s blog explores what’s on and homes nearby…

First up, the Royal College of Nursing Library and Heritage Centre in Cavendish Square, once home to Prime Minister H.H. Asquith, is offering guided tours of the historic building, with a RCN centenary art installation created by Peter Liversidge with nurses, nursing students and health care assistants. You’re advised to get there early, as it is known to get busy!

Paired with this is Bryanston Court, George Street, a large four-bedroom apartment which requires a bit of TLC. The 2,259sq ft home is on the market for £3,400,000.

Poets, thespians, your spiritual home, Keats House is open for an exclusive night with Dr Annie Grey. The celebrated food historian, broadcaster and regular on Radio 4’s ‘The Kitchen Cabinet’ will be speaking about the era’s delicacies with a supply of nibbles too. Grab a drink, have a bite and listen to spoken word too. This is an adults only event, and tickets are available online here.

Thinking about moving to North London? Test out the area first in a glorious 12-bedroom home with outdoor swimming pool in Frognal, Hampstead, available for £15,000 a week.

A Gin Palace? Well sort of, Fulham Palace is hosting London-based gin brewer Sipsmith with the Royal College of Music for an evening of history and splendour… with a slice of lemon. Capture the delights of the Georgian period with a costumed photobooth and gin-tasting. Buy your tickets early, this is the tonic!

Finishing with a royal flush is Marquis House, Sovereign Court, is the glamourous two-bedroom apartment in Clarence House located moments away from Hammersmith. The property is expected to complete in Q2 2017, it is on the market at £985,000.
