Its that time of year again when Halloween falls upon us, and for a little over a week, London turns its attention towards some of the hauntingly best events in town. Never one to leave you in the dark, we have put together a list of things to do on fright night.
Firstly, we have The Candlelight Club and their Halloween Spooktacular, which takes place in the ghostly speakeasy on Friday 28th and Saturday 29th October. Here, revellers in jazz-age costumes will descend upon the club for a night of music, food, and entertainment. Your host for the evening will be “Lord of Cabaret” Misrule, and there will be live music from the Silver Ghosts, as well as DJ Auntie Maureen spinning the decks until late. If you fancy a glimpse into how the rest of the year will pan out then fortune tellers will be on hand on the evening to provide you with an insight into your future. Tickets for the event are available here.
If terrifying tales are what you are looking for then the Charles Dickens Museum is hosting a ghost stories evening with three dramatic readings by actor and musician Dominic Gerrard of The Signal-man, The Ghost in the Bride’s Chamber and Captain Murderer. As a child, Charles Dickens was captivated by ghost story readings from his nurse, which sparked his interest in the supernatural and encouraged him to write some of the most beloved ghost stories of all time. As a tribute to the legendary writer, Dominic will be doing his best impressions of some of the most beloved characters from the novels. You can find out more information here.
It doesn’t get much eerier than an evening in a Gothic-revival chapel, and this year, The Union Chapel in Islington is hosting a night with legendary composer Fabio Frizzi as he returns for a second consecutive year with a show that includes new orchestrations of his scores for cult films. For the first time, he will also explore his work outside of his collaborations with Italian Director, Lucio Fulci, and will bring suspense and drama to a range of legendary film clips and frightening visuals. You can view a clip of last years eventhere, and get your tickets here.
Whatever you do this Halloween, rest assured London will have an event to suit your needs. If you are looking for more inspiration, then remember to tweet us @Harrods Estates or visit our website for our full listings.
