Bonfire Night...Best Events in London

fireworks

This Saturday (November 5th) is Bonfire night, and crowds will gather in abundance to watch fireworks ignite the skies in reference to the gunpowder plot on the houses of Parliament in Westminster. Earlier this week, we gave you our list of homes near the infamous political building, and today we are bringing you a guide to some of the best displays in London.

Kicking off the annual celebrations on Friday evening is Coram's Fields charity who are hosting a free community fireworks display at Coram’s Fields, 93 Guildford Street, WC1N 1DN. Doors open from 3pm where fairground rides and food stalls can be enjoyed with proceeds going to a good cause. Fireworks commence at 5.15pm, but be sure to head down early as last years event attracted over 6,000 people.

An evening of entertainment awaits on Saturday at Battersea Park fireworks display, Queenstown Rd, London, SW11 4NJ, where Wandsworth Council have prepared an eye-catching display which plays out against a choreographed soundtrack of hit songs by music legends. Gates open at 6pm, with the bonfire beginning at 7.30pm and fireworks at 8pm. Also at the event will be food and drink stalls, and masses of entertainment suitable for all the family. Advance adult tickets: £10 Under 10s: Free

The biggest event in North London has to be Alexandra Palace and their extravagant display showcasing fireworks and laser show held at Alexandra Palace Way, N22 7AY. With events running on Friday and Saturday, there is plenty of opportunity to head along to this spectacular display.  Entertainment at the event includes a kids and adult fun fair, craft beer village, street food and German Bier Hall; providing all the fun of Octoberfest.  Advance tickets and adults: £6 Concessions: £4 Under 10s: free
