Harrods Estates website granted an Official Honoree in the 16th Annual Webby Awards

Harrods Estates is delighted to announce that for the second year the website has been awarded an Official Honoree in the 16th Annual Webby Awards.

Hailed as the "Internet's highest honor" by The New York Times, The Webby Awards is the leading international award honoring excellence on the Internet, including Websites, interactive advertising & media, online film & video, and mobile & apps.

Established in 1996, The 16th Annual Webby Awards received nearly 10,000 entries from all 50 states and over 60 countries worldwide. Of the 10,000 entries submitted to the 16th Annual Webby Awards, fewer than 15% were distinguished as an Official Honoree.

The Webby Awards is presented by The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS). Harrods Estates were delighted to part sponsor the Visual Couture event “Sleeping with the stars”; a unique collaboration that sees the iconic photographs of Terry O’Neill inspiring ten unique Haute Couture furniture pieces by luxury furniture designer Jimmie Martin.

Jimmie Martin is using Terry O’Neill’s most celebrated and never-before-seen images to inspire statement baroque, yet postmodernist pieces. The famous faces that adorn the sofas, beds, chairs and armoires include Audrey Hepburn, David Bowie, Brigitte Bardot, Raquel Welch, Mick Jagger, Al Pacino and Mia Farrow. The ten functional works of art will be exhibited at London’s Rook & Raven Gallery in March 2012.

The International Property Awards in association with Bloomberg Television and Google, now in their 17th year, is the world’s most prestigious competition dedicated to finding the best real estate professionals across the globe.

The awards programme covers residential as well as commercial categories with regional heats for Arabia, Europe, Africa, the Americas and Asia Pacific. Winners were announced at the grand ceremony on 12th December 2011 at The Savoy, London, attended by leading property professionals.
