What are your favourite places in Mayfair?

Mayfair’s charm lies in its Georgian architecture and historic squares. Many buildings, once aristocratic homes, now serve as offices and embassies. The area features large parks, luxury shopping, high-end restaurants, and world-class hotels, enjoyed for centuries.

Luxury shopping is a hallmark of Mayfair, with bespoke tailors on Savile Row and exclusive brands like Chanel and Louis Vuitton on Mount Street and Bond Street. Burlington Arcade is renowned for its high-end jewellery. Art enthusiasts can visit Sotheby’s, Christie’s, and Phillips auction houses.

Public squares like Berkeley, Grosvenor, and Hanover offer relaxation and socialising spaces, hosting annual events. Berkeley Square is known for the private members' club Annabel’s. While Hyde Park and Green Park provide ample space to unwind.

How would you describe the sense of community in Mayfair?

Mayfair is home to London’s wealthiest residents, including influential figures, celebrities, and business magnates. Numerous private members' clubs in Mayfair and St James’s provide spaces for socialising and networking. The area hosts art exhibitions, charity events, and cultural festivals, bringing the community together. Community initiatives focus on preserving Mayfair’s heritage, encouraging resident collaboration.

What are the key events in Mayfair’s social calendar?

One of the most memorable events was the King’s Coronation celebration in May 2023. Grosvenor Square hosted a large garden party, attracting people from around the world. Mayfair also hosts festivals celebrating art and music, drawing enthusiasts globally.

In October, the Mayfair Art Weekend celebrates the world’s internationally renowned galleries, involving Art of London, the Royal Academy of Arts, and the National Gallery. The PAD London event, held in Berkeley Square, showcases 20th-century and contemporary design and collectable jewellery, with over 60 galleries participating.

The Grosvenor Film Festival takes place in July, offering outdoor screenings of classic films with food and drinks. The London Handel Festival, held annually in spring at St George’s Church on Hanover Square, celebrates the 18th-century composer George Frideric Handel and other composers.

What amenities in Mayfair enhance residents' quality of life?

Mayfair boasts some of London’s best exclusive restaurants and cocktail bars, many Michelin-starred, such as Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester and Hélène Darroze at The Connaught. The Connaught, The Berkeley, and Claridge's are top hotels catering to those looking for the very best service, fine dining, and luxury spas.

For art, Mayfair has a wealth of galleries, art events, and Sotheby’s auction house. Proximity to Harley Street means residents have access to top-notch doctors and private clinics. Financial services are well-represented, with numerous banks and wealth management firms available to manage clients' finances.

What makes Mayfair’s location in London great?

Mayfair is surrounded by prestigious areas such as Knightsbridge, Soho, and St James’s, offering additional shopping, dining, and entertainment options. Multiple tube stations, including Bond Street, Green Park, and Hyde Park, make the rest of London easily accessible. Businesspeople can quickly reach the city via the Central and Elizabeth lines from Bond Street.

What is your favourite lunch spot?

My favourite lunch spot is Mercato Mayfair on North Audley Street, a community market in a converted church offering a variety of worldwide street food cuisine. I appreciate it for its community spirit, bringing people together to socialise. Elsewhere my favourite coffee shop is the Parcafe on Park Lane, part of The Dorchester. The coffee is outstanding, and the friendly staff know you by name.
